About me

Hi, I'm Miriam

I'm a psychologist with over 10 years of clinical experience, working in English, Arabic, and Armenian.

Over the years, I've seen so many people struggle simply because no one ever explained what was happening inside them.

Once you understand how your mind works, you can work with it instead of against it. That's what our sessions are for.

I'll explain what's going on in plain language, give you tools you can use in real life, and we'll move at a pace that feels safe.

What I help with

Where I can help

Anxiety & depression

Worry, panic, low mood, and feeling stuck or flat.

OCD

Intrusive thoughts, checking, doubt, and rituals that take over your day.

Relationships

Conflict, loss, and big life changes that affect how you connect.

Old patterns

The same feelings and choices that keep repeating, often since early life.

Not sure if what you're going through fits? Just ask me.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do I need a referral or a diagnosis?

No. You can contact me directly. Many people come without a diagnosis, simply because something isn't working and they want to understand why.

Is therapy covered by Dutch health insurance?

Sessions are private and not covered by basic Dutch health insurance. Some supplementary policies or employers reimburse part of the cost, so it's worth checking with yours. I can give you an invoice for every session.

How long is a session?

The intake session takes 60 to 90 minutes. Follow-up sessions are 50 to 60 minutes.

How often will we meet, and for how long?

Most people start weekly, then space sessions out as things improve. How many sessions you need depends on what we're working on. We set goals together at the start and review your progress along the way, so you always know where we are.

How does online therapy work?

We meet by video on Zoom. You just need a stable connection and a private, quiet space where you can talk freely. Online sessions follow the same structure as in-person ones.

Which languages do you work in?

English, Arabic, and Armenian. You can also switch between them in a session if that feels more natural.

How do I pay?

By bank transfer, after you receive an invoice. Clients in Lebanon can also pay by WHISH, OMT, or Western Union.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us and is stored securely under the GDPR (AVG). The only exception is if there is a serious risk to your safety or someone else's. If that ever comes up, I'll talk it through with you first wherever possible.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. As a psychologist, I don't prescribe. If you take medication or are considering it, therapy can work alongside the care you get from your GP or psychiatrist.

I'm not sure therapy is right for me. What should I do?

Book the free discovery call. We'll talk about what's going on, and I'll tell you honestly whether I think I can help. If someone else would be a better fit, I'll say so.
